CiviCamp Europe reflections

In October, our project manager Abi who has been with Third Sector Design since August, spent five inspiring days in the Netherlands for CiviCamp Europe 2025 – a week long gathering of users, developers, implementers, and community contributors focused on CiviCRM.

CiviCamp Europe is more than a conference: it brings together people who care about open-source tools for social good, with a balance of learning, sharing, and hands-on collaboration. Abi took part in:

  • A packed one-day conference showcasing practical talks and innovative demos
  • Two days of user admin training, supporting attendees to deepen their CiviCRM skills
  • A community sprint, working alongside contributors on tools like SearchKit, FormBuilder, and extensions that make CiviCRM more flexible and powerful

At 3SD we’re always thinking about how to better support our clients and the wider sector with tools that help organisations work smarter – whether that’s through configuration, training, or improving workflows. Events like CiviCamp Europe are a great opportunity to see what’s emerging in the community, get hands-on with new ideas, and bring back insights that benefit the work we do every day.

If you’re curious about the kinds of sessions Abi attended, the people she met, and the ideas that sparked the most discussion, she’s written a full reflection on her experience – including examples of talks that might inspire your own CiviCRM journey: Everyone is Actually Nice: Reflecting on My First CiviCamp Sprint

We’re excited to bring some of these insights into our projects in 2026 – from practical, no-code tools to thoughtful discussions about data workflows and collaboration.
