St Ethelburga's are a great organisation to have on our client list - they are passionate and interesting people working for an organisation with a great mission.
We've worked with VAW since 2004, initially developing a custom CRM application for their requirements, and then migrating them to CiviCRM in 2008 so they could begin to take advantage of the all the resources provided by the CiviCRM community.
Alpha initially contacted us for some advice on the best way to model their (quite complex) requirements in CiviCRM. They were already using Drupal for their website and were evaluating whether CiviCRM would be a suitable next step. We provided them with an expert opinion. We meet up with them to better understand their needs. At that time, there were a few options but no perfect way to do what they wanted to do in Civi. Luckily they had a reasonable budget to work with so we suggested that they look at funding the development of contact subtypes.
